Spend the morning hiking to Santa Marija Tower, then swim in one of the quiet coves on the south side. By mid-afternoon the day-trippers leave and the island goes quiet.
The island is a Natura 2000 conservation site. Sensitive Posidonia seagrass meadows grow in the bays, which is why anchoring is regulated and ferries are limited.
Scheduled ferries run all summer and take about 25 minutes.
Most cruises combine Comino with the Blue Lagoon and sea caves.
May to October for swimming; April and October are best for walking.
Bring a hat and more water than you think you need; shade is scarce.
Walk the trail to St Mary's Tower for the best views.
There is no ATM on the island, bring some cash.
Leave no trace: carry all rubbish back to the boat.
